Drive by History Ep. 9 – Powder Valley Nature Center

I’ve grown up in West St. Louis County and spent a lot of time in Kirkwood. It was always one of our favorite suburbs. We’d go to Dewey’s Pizza, get snow cones at Tropical Moose, or just walk around. I loved it all. But one thing in Kirkwood I never did was go to the Powder Valley Nature Center. It’s relatively new and a bit off the beaten path but there really is no excuse for not going. We didn’t make it during the day when the nature center is open, but we did go for a great little hike and we learned a lot about this history. Who would have thought there was so much Gun Powder in the history of the place? Come drive on by some history with us.
